Zollanvari (Pty) Ltd provides a collection of oriental and Persian carpets from different regions in the east. It is hand made, mostly by nomadic tribes, who produces carpets and rugs exactly as their forefathers did, over a thousand years ago.
Zollanvari Collection:
- Yalameh – robust, original
- Kashkulibaff – best known, most beautiful of the area
- Amaleh - minimal patterns and no motifs, more modern and more colourful than the Gabbeh
- Kilim – brilliant colours, diverse decoration, bold, distinctive patterns
- Soumakh – quite rare as it takes longer to weave than your average carpet
- Balouch Soumakh – rare, takes long to weave
- Shiraz - Luri and Qashqai tribes, persian and turkish knot – predominantly red
- Qashqai – well-drawn and woven in joyous colours, not brash, among the best on the market
- Gabbeh – hand-knotted coarse rug with a thick pile, woollen warp and weft, woven by the women of nomadic tribes in the south-west of Iran.
- Luribaff – closely related to Kurdish weaving but more original in composition and more robust
